Fitzgerald Award \u201cfor outstanding contribution and service in the work of Christian unity and interreligious understanding and cooperation.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe award, which acknowledges lifetime achievement in the promotion of Christian unity and interreligious understanding, was presented to Bishop Brown at CADEIO\u2019s annual conference in Charlotte, N.C. on April 22.\r\n\r\n\u201cThis diocese has really been in the forefront on these issues,\u201d said Father Al Baca, the ecumenical and interreligious affairs officer for the Diocese of Orange. \u201cAnd even in his retirement Bishop Brown has maintained his work in this area.
