Communications, Office Of

The mission of the Office of Communications at the Pastoral Center is to share information of benefit to Orange County Catholics and the Catholic community at large giving a broad understanding of the work of the office of the Bishop of Orange and an awareness of the ministries of the Diocese parish and schools. The information is delivered through media, social and digital platforms, Diocesan publications, video, radio and other strategic channels. Our responsibilities:

  • Serve as the voice for the Office of theBishop
  • Provide communications consulting on key initiatives and projects of the Diocese
  • Management of media and public inquiries, distribution of press releases and statements
  • Distribution of OC Catholic, the Diocesan weekly print and online newspaper and biweekly Spanish edition and OC Catholic Online
  • Manage multiple social media platforms including: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Management and coordination of internal communications between the Pastoral Offices and the diocese’s 57 parishes and 5 Catholic centers, 36 schools and the many ministries and outreach programs
  • Communications to the Presbyterate via Shepherds Update, to Staff and parishes via Connect and Global Email
  • Production for broadcast on EWTN and Relevant Radio
  • Management of the Diocesan directory
