Blood, Mystery and Light: The Shroud of Turin Museum Now Open!

Discover the blood, uncover the mystery, encounter the light! Take a groundbreaking journey with more than 10,000 square feet of 360-degree theater rooms, interactive displays and sacred art about the world’s most studied artifact: the Shroud of Turin. Have an evangelistic encounter with the story of the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus — and of His ongoing real presence in the Eucharist.

The Shroud of Turin Museum is now open at the Richard H. Pickup Cultural Center on the Christ Cathedral Campus. Tickets are on sale now!

Christmas Concert at Christ Cathedral

The annual “Christmas at the Cathedral: Lessons and Carols by Candlelight” returns on Friday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. It will feature Scripture readings, audience singing and choral works by living composers, such as Whitacre’s “Lux Aurumque,” Wayne Oquin’s “O Magnum Mysterium” and Rutter’s “Candlelight Carol.” The Hazel Wright Organ and Cathedral Brass will lead the congregation in song and accompany the Diocesan Choir of Orange, the Cathedral Choirs and the Diocesan Children’s Choir.

Homeless Persons’ Inter-Religious Memorial Service

Each year, hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness die on the streets of Orange County. On Sunday, December 21, the first day of winter, longest night of the year, and National Day of Remembrance, the Diocese of Orange will be holding an Inter-Religious Procession and Memorial Service in remembrance of the homeless at 6:45pm in the Arboretum at Christ Cathedral. Together with Bishop Kevin Vann and other O.C. religious leaders, we invite you to join us as we honor them and acknowledge their lives as part of the human family. Fr. Ian's Homilies: "She Who Didn't Hide"

“And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, [Jesus] interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24.27)—and in doing so, Jesus shows us that the scriptures are about Himself. Convicted by this truth, Fr. Ian preaches every weekend the mystery of Christ as revealed in the Sunday readings. It is Jesus who we seek—and in these homilies, Fr. Ian hopes to provide a glimpse of Him. Father Ian is a Roman Catholic Priest serving at Christ Cathedral in the Diocese of Orange in California.
