Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bethany?
Bethany Women’s Ministry is a vibrant community of young adult women in the Diocese of Orange, united in prayer, spiritual formation, and unwavering support for one another. Together, we navigate the highs and lows of life, growing stronger in faith and sisterhood. We provide a home for spiritual growth, where deep connections with God and one another foster transformation. With a zeal for mentorship, we encourage young adult women at various seasons of life to uplift one another through prayer, guidance, and encouragement. Our mission is to create a space where authentic friendships flourish, and women are empowered to embrace and share their unique, God-given gifts with the world.
Who is it for?
WHO IS IT FOR?
Bethany is for women between the ages of 18-39 who desire to grow in faith, prayer, and spiritual formation. With a zeal for mentorship, we encourage young adult women at various seasons of life to uplift one another through prayer, guidance, and encouragement.
What will we do?
Quarterly, Bethany Women’s Ministry will offer a Bethany Brunch for women to gather, enjoy brunch together, listen to a speaker share about a relevant topic for young adult women in the Church, and pray. Depending on the topic, small table discussions or activities will take place to allow for female fellowship.
What do the brunches look like?
Brunches will consist of:
- Prayer
- A delicious meal, coffee and teas,
- Socializing time with fellow young adult women
- A guest speaker sharing a relevant topic for young adult women in the Church
- Small table discussions or activities (depending on the topic)
What is the mentorship piece of Bethany?
When you look at your life, you probably find a series of men and women who have mentored you in your education, career, and life.
At Bethany, we hope to add a level of mentorship for the women who desire it so you can be mentored or mentor a sister in Christ. If you are in college, you would have a mentor who is post college and navigating career and adulting. If you are post college, you would have someone newly married or in a settle career mentoring you as you navigate your career vocation and your Primary Vocation. If you are newly married, wouldn’t you love to have a female mentor who has been married and has started a family in your life?
Our hope is to pair women up to simply get together in between Bethany Brunches and help one another navigate life and faith together. This will be developed as we do the quarterly brunches and is a great opportunity to build solid Catholic sisterhood and accompany one another.
Can I serve on the bethany team?
Sure thing! We are forming a leadership team for Bethany to discern speakers, help with promotion, put on the quarterly brunches, and as we develop the Mentorship program, coordinate Mentors and Mentees. So there are a number of ways you can be involved. Email Tricia Tembreull at ttembreull@rcbo.org to share you interest in helping serve in Bethany.
I told a friend about it, can she come?
Sure thing! Invite her to a brunch. She does not have to be Catholic to attend. All women are welcome between the ages of 18-39.
What is the cost?
The Brunches will have a cost to them to provide for the food, otherwise, being in Bethany is free!

About this September Bethany Brunch
Join us for a delightful morning of fellowship and brunch as we welcome author Jonna Schuster to share from her book Hearing God’s Voice. Rooted in Scripture and Catholic tradition, Jonna will guide us in learning how to recognize the many ways the Lord speaks to us, how to discern His voice, and how to carry listening prayer into our daily lives. Through her teaching, personal stories, and practical exercises, Jonna will help us open our hearts to encounter the Lord more deeply and grow in intimacy with Him. Come hungry for both a delicious meal and a renewed closeness with Christ!
