GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2023) — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, in conjunction with the Orange County chapter of the Knights of Columbus, are hosting the annual Walk for Life on Oct. 7 on the Christ Cathedral campus in Garden Grove.

This year’s theme is “Praying for Life, the Dignity of Life.” The event, which kicks off Respect Life Month, will feature a rosary, pro-life message, Mass and Eucharistic Procession.

Thousands of the faithful from around the region are expected to descend upon and process around the 34-acre cathedral campus.

The emcee is Mark McElrath, executive director of the Santiago Retreat Center and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4922 in Orange. Kathleen Domingo, executive director of the California Catholic Conference in Sacramento, is the guest speaker. The Very Rev. Angelos Sebastian, vicar general of the Diocese of Orange, is the presider of the Mass. Bishop Kevin Vann will also be in attendance.

Orange County Walk for Life is a grass-roots movement that started with local Knights of Columbus councils. It is being held for the second time at Christ Cathedral, the spiritual home of the Bishop of Orange and a major center of Catholic worship for the West Coast.
