Background

What are some of the factors that led to your decision to enter the seminary and discern the question of a vocation to the priesthood?

Having been told by people and something deep down in my heart was saying that I could see myself happy in this life. I anlso knew that what gave me life was my relationship with Jesus. Spending time with Jesus was the time of the week I looked forward to the most: a sign of having the gift of celibacy. Even though I had fears I wanted to give my full self to God and He was asking me to take this step. “Perfect love cast out all fear.”

Who are some of the people who influenced your decision to enter the seminary? What is it about them that assisted you?

Spiritual director who had mentioned to me that I might have a calling to the priesthood. I also had a friend who had told me that where God is calling you is where you are most free to be yourself while also the place in which you’d give the greatest amount of love.

Describe the moment that you knew you wanted to take the next steps to become a priest?

The story of the rich man who had found his pearl was willing to sell everything in order to get that pearl. I had found my pearl and it was following God’s will for my life: He had asked me to take a step into the priesthood.
